Art Practice

Artist residencies

As a visual artist, Eggleton develops sculptural works in relation to site, engaging with the given context and architectural space. She often uses archive material and cultural references as conceptual armature.

At other times, she incorporates body movement, combining the practices of sculptural, spatial and Butoh/ Bodyweather movement disciplines. Her response inhabits the site as a form of enquiry and activation of body, material and space.

Eggleton’s non site-specific works seek to shift and reconfigure established relationships to materials, patterns and geometrical structures. Her affinity for arid landscapes and the physicality of rock formations has informed the several series of drawings and small sculptures. She approaches drawing as an open and experimental discipline to explore relationships between patterns, structure and space.

2022 - Fall Creek Artist Residency, undertaken with 4 other artists including Anthony Pelchen and Trevor Flinn
